What Happens in the Annex?
For two years, eight people live in a cramped space, hidden from the rest of the world. They have two helpers, but they can only do so much for the Jews. With occasion rats, hours of boredom and silence, what can you do? Mrs. Van Pels and Mr. Van Pels argue often, Hanukkah only comes once a year, and no one can be happy all the time. But the "family" always finds a way to not die of boredom, and with Anne Frank in the annex, things are always quite interesting. In the morning, the "family" has to stay quiet until that evening, when all the workers go home. Otto Frank teaches the children math, history, Dutch, and many other things. The children can study and read to pass the time, but the longer the Jews stay in the Annex, the more tension rises. But despite the anger, everyone can find happiness. Anne seems to either be the most bored or the least bored. Anne has her most prized possession, a diary. Here is where she records the story of her life in the annex. But after two years, someone learns their secret. And with the German "Green Police" ready to arrest anyone with information about Jews, the person betrays the "family". After a terrible ending to Anne Franks life after she is found, one thing that has survived is her diary. It is one of the most important relics from the Holocaust. But the diary's story itself is one of the most interesting, the true story of being in hiding. The life of hiding in a secret annex for two years.
